Blair L. Gilbert

Staff Attorney

(Admitted to practice law in Maryland. Practicing law in the District of Columbia pursuant to D.C. Court of Appeals Rule 49(c)(9)(B) under the supervision of Legal Aid attorneys admitted to the D.C. Bar and in good standing.)

Blair L. Gilbert is a Staff Attorney in the Housing Law Unit. She assists with the representation of low-income tenants in eviction and housing conditions cases before the D.C. Superior Court. She also provides support for litigation of housing law claims before administrative bodies, such as the D.C. Housing Authority and the Office of Administrative Hearings.

Prior to joining Legal Aid in July 2017, Blair was a Legal Fellow in the Office of Legal Affairs at Legal Services Corporation. Prior to that, she clerked for the Honorable Phyllis D. Thompson of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals.

Blair received her B.A. from Georgetown University and her J.D., cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center. While in law school, she worked as an intern at the D.C. Council, the Access to Justice Initiative (now Office for Access to Justice) at the Department of Justice, D.C. Appleseed, and Legal Aid. Prior to law school, Blair served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Kingdom of Tonga.
