Blair L. Gilbert is a Senior Staff Attorney in the Housing Law Unit. She represents low-income tenants in eviction cases before the D.C. Superior Court. She also litigates housing law claims before administrative bodies, such as the D.C. Housing Authority and the Office of Administrative Hearings, and represents tenants’ associations in Tenant Opportunity to Purchase Act matters.

Prior to joining Legal Aid DC in July 2017, Blair was a Legal Fellow in the Office of Legal Affairs at Legal Services Corporation. Prior to that, she clerked for the Honorable Phyllis D. Thompson of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals.

Blair received her B.A. from Georgetown University and her J.D., cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center. While in law school, she worked as an intern at the D.C. Council, the Access to Justice Initiative at the Department of Justice, D.C. Appleseed, and Legal Aid DC. Prior to law school, Blair served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Kingdom of Tonga.
