Jamie Sparano is a Staff Attorney in the Domestic Violence/Family Law Unit. She represents domestic violence survivors in civil protection order cases and conducts intake at the Domestic Violence Intake Center in the D.C. Superior Court.
Prior to joining Legal Aid in April 2014, Jamie worked for the American Bar Association, where she conducted research for the National Inventory of the Collateral Consequences of Conviction and assisted in the creation of an online collateral consequences database.
Jamie graduated with an A.B. from Princeton University. She received her J.D., cum laude, from American University Washington College of Law, where she represented clients in family law matters in the Women and the Law Clinic. While in law school, Jamie interned at the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia, and the Juvenile Law Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Upon graduation, she clerked for the Honorable F. Lee Forrester of the Superior Court of New Jersey.
