Legal Aid Launches New Website, Blog
B, L, O & G keycaps of a keyword lying on a grey surface spelling out 'blog'

On behalf of Legal Aid, I am delighted to announce the launch of our new website and blog. Our redesigned website now features the photography of Jonathan Ragle, who has generously donated his services to photographing Legal Aid clients and staff for the past three years. While many of these photos have already been featured in our 2011-2013 Annual Reports, we are now also able to share them on our website.

One of the new features on the website is our new "Meet Our Clients" section, which allows visitors meet and read the stories of several clients, such as Columbus Keemer, who -- with the assistance of both Legal Aid housing and public benefits attorneys -- managed to avoid homelessness and get access to the critical safety net benefits; or Taria Humphries, who suffered abuse at the hands of a batterer for more than a decade until, finally, with Legal Aid's help, she was able to obtain a protection order and regain full custody of her children.

*      Fuller descriptions of each of our practice areas and special projects;

*      More streamlined information on our fundraising campaigns and a revamped donation page; and

*      Ways to get involved for prospective interns, volunteers, and pro bono attorneys hoping to donate their time and talent.

While we recognize that what is most important is the substance of what we do, we are also proud that our new website is able to showcase our work, making justice real on behalf of persons living in poverty in the District of Columbia. We hope you will visit our site and share with us any comments or suggestions you might have.
