B.A., magna cum laude, Cornell University
Dara Canchester joined Legal Aid as a Legal Assistant/Paralegal in May 2019. She graduated magna cum laude from Cornell University with a B.A. in History and minors in Spanish and Near Eastern Studies. While at Cornell, Dara worked as a Research Assistant for the History Department and authored a thesis on student protest movements in Chile during the dictatorship.
Before coming to Legal Aid, Dara interned at the Washington Office on Latin America where she conducted research on US aid money to Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala. Now, at Legal Aid, Dara provides support to the Housing Law Unit. She is proficient in Spanish.
