Julia Eve Preston is a Supervising Attorney in the Domestic Violence/Family Law Unit of the Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia. She represents domestic violence survivors in civil protection order cases and other family law matters, including custody, child support, and divorce. Julia Eve also regularly engages in legislative advocacy on issues affecting survivors of domestic violence.
Prior to joining Legal Aid in 2012, Julia Eve clerked for the Honorable Andrea Kelly of the Circuit Court of Baltimore City, Maryland. In 2016, she served as a Training and Technical Assistance Attorney for the ABA Commission on Domestic and Sexual Violence.
Julia Eve received her B.A., with honors, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She received her J.D., cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center, where she served as the Managing Editor of the Georgetown Journal of Gender and the Law and graduated with a certificate in Refugees and Humanitarian Emergencies.
