Keerat Johnson

Staff Attorney

(Admitted to practice law in Maryland. Practicing law in the District of Columbia pursuant to D.C. Court of Appeals Rule 49(c)(9)(B) under the supervision of Legal Aid attorneys admitted to the D.C. Bar and in good standing.)

Keerat K. Johnson is a Staff Attorney in the Housing Law Unit. She assists with the representation of low-income tenants in eviction and housing conditions cases before the D.C. Superior Court. She also provides support for litigation of housing law claims before administrative bodies, such as the D.C. Housing Authority and the Office of Administrative Hearings.

Prior to joining Legal Aid in August 2018, Keerat was an Attorney Advisor at the Department of Labor’s Office of Administrative Law Judges.

Keerat received her B.S. in Foreign Service from Georgetown University and her J.D. from George Mason University School of Law. While in law school, she worked as an intern at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Executive Office for Immigration Review at the U.S. Department of Justice, Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court in Arlington, Virginia, National Geographic, and U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
