Priyanka Gupta

Sidley Austin Appellate Advocacy Fellow

Priyanka Gupta is the Sidley Austin Appellate Advocacy Fellow with Legal Aid’s Barbara McDowell Appellate Advocacy Project. She assists in efforts to litigate appeals and file amicus briefs on matters of importance to people living in poverty in the District of Columbia.

Prior to joining Legal Aid in September 2018, Priyanka clerked for the Honorable Richard W. Roberts of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia and the Honorable Judith W. Rogers of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.

She received a B.A. magna cum laude in Creative Writing from Northwestern University and a J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School. During law school, she founded the Student Mental Health Association, lobbied for the Trauma and Learning Policy Initiative, and was a research assistant for veterans benefits issues. She also served as the managing editor of the Harvard Human Rights Journal.
