Rebecca (Becca) Gallahue

Senior Legal Assistant/Paralegal

Rebecca (Becca) Gallahue joined Legal Aid as a Legal Assistant/Paralegal in July 2014. She graduated from the College of William & Mary in May 2014 with a B.A. in Sociology and Hispanic Studies. From 2003 to 2014, Becca volunteered with the Court Services Division of the Fairfax County General District Court, where she conducted financial eligibility interviews for defendants seeking court-appointed counsel. While at William & Mary, she served as an interpreter for Spanish-speaking survivors of Domestic violence in pre-trial meetings and court proceedings through an internship with the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney for Williamsburg/James City County. Her two and a half years of research in sociology focused on the systemic barriers Latinos face when encountering the legal and social services systems in Southern Virginia. During the summer of 2013, she was an undergraduate intern with Legal Aid’s Intake Unit. From July 2014 until March 2017, Becca was the legal assistant/paralegal for the Housing Law Unit. Since April 2017, she has provided administrative support to all of Legal Aid’s units. She also currently manages workflow amongst the legal assistants/paralegals in the four substantive practice areas. Becca is proficient in Spanish.
