Anna Purinton

Senior Staff Attorney

Anna Purinton is a Senior Staff Attorney in the Housing Law Unit. Anna represents tenants in eviction and housing conditions cases before the D.C. Superior Court. She also represents tenants in administrative proceedings before the D.C. Housing Authority and the D.C. Office of Administrative Hearings.

Prior to joining Legal Aid in September 2010, Anna was a civil rights litigation fellow with Relman, Dane & Colfax, where she litigated federal fair housing and employment discrimination cases.

Anna graduated with a B.A., magna cum laude, from Brown University. She received her J.D., cum laude, from New York University School of Law, where she was a Root-Tilden-Kern scholar. She served as Executive Editor of NYU Review of Law & Social Change and participated in the Immigrants Rights Clinic and Neighborhood Institutions Clinic. While in law school, Anna received the Ann Petluck Poses Memorial Prize for outstanding work in a clinical course.
