Jenifer (Jen) Jenkins is a Policy Advocate in Legal Aid’s Policy Unit. Prior to joining Legal Aid in May 2021, Jen was a Public Policy Advocate at the Office of Hawaiian Affairs. At this Native Hawaiian serving state agency, they advocated on housing, houselessness, and criminal legal reform at the state legislature and before state agencies and administrative bodies.

Jen received their J.D. from the William S. Richardson School of Law. While in law school, Jen was Co-Editor in Chief of the Asian Pacific Law & Policy Journal. Jen was also an Advocate for Public Interest (APIL) Grantee and an Andrew S. Cray Fellow, where they focused on policy advocacy at the National Center for Transgender Equality in Washington, D.C.  Jen received their B.A. from the University of Hawai’i West O’ahu, with honors.
