Kaitlin Welborn is a Senior Impact Litigation Staff Attorney with the Systemic Advocacy & Law Reform Unit. She earned her J.D. from Yale Law School, her M.P.A. from George Washington University, and her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania. Kaitlin joined Legal Aid in January 2024 from the ACLU of Alabama, where she was a Reproductive Rights Staff Attorney. She litigated multiple abortion-rights cases, transgender-rights cases, and Milligan v. Allen, a landmark U.S. Supreme Court case about the Voting Rights Act. Previously Kaitlin was an Associate at Hogan Lovells LLP, where she joined Legal Aid in challenging D.C.’s administration of the SNAP program in Garnett v. Zeilinger. Legal Aid awarded Kaitlin with the 2019 Klepper Prize for Volunteer Excellence for her work on that case.
