Luisa Lopez

Luisa joined Legal Aid DC’s Family Law and Domestic Violence Unit in 2025. Prior to joining Legal Aid, she was the Family Support Worker and Volunteer Coordinator at the Casa de Paz shelter in Cincinnati, Ohio, which focused on helping survivors of domestic violence, advocating for their healing process and overall independence and self-reliance.
Luisa is a graduate of Xavier University, where she majored in Philosophy with a concentration in Political Science and minored in Psychology, Political Thought and Italian Language and Culture. During her time at Xavier, she also worked at an immigration firm. Luisa was also a member of Cincinnati’s Immigrant Dignity Coalition, a group that advocated for policy changes to benefit the immigrant community in the area.
