Emma Hersom

B.A., Trinity College
Emma Hersom is a Navigator with the DC Resource Bridge, where she advances access to justice by helping DC residents navigate complex legal systems and connecting them to critical legal services through trauma-informed intake and referral support. She previously worked on the first iteration of the DC Resource Bridge (formerly known as the Coordinated Intake and Referral Program) at Neighborhood Legal Services Program, where she played a key role in piloting the groundbreaking citywide initiative that is intended to streamline access to legal aid across more than 50 organizations. Emma has also supported unrepresented litigants at the DC Superior Court’s Family Court Self-Help Center and interned at Legal Aid DC supporting Intake and the Pro Bono Program.
Emma graduated summa cum laude from Trinity College with a B.A. in Political Science and Human Rights Studies, where she was a Presidential Scholar and inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. Her honors thesis examined access to higher education in prison, reflecting her long-standing focus on equity and systemic reform. She also studied human rights movements abroad in Nepal, Jordan, and Chile, further grounding her advocacy in a global perspective.
