Rachael is a Staff Attorney in the Public Benefits Unit and joined Legal Aid in 2025. She received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center after studying International Relations at Harvard University and the University of Edinburgh. Prior to earning her law degree, Rachael served as a human rights researcher and advocate, specializing in human trafficking, sexual and gender-based violence, racial health disparities, and trauma-informed approaches. She also worked as an educator in the international education field, where she taught English and worked to expand global education accessibility.

Throughout this time, Rachael served as a Crisis Counselor and took up numerous other volunteer positions to address the needs of vulnerable populations in her community. She was also a leader in public interest activities at Georgetown Law. Rachael received a Dean’s Award for service to the community for contributions including leading pro bono service trips, representing asylum seekers, and teaching lessons on the law to high schoolers around DC. She is passionate about client-centered communication and establishing a more in-depth understanding of trauma within the legal profession.
