Zoe Kemmerling is a Staff Attorney in the Consumer Law Unit. She advises and represents clients facing foreclosure, debt collection lawsuits, and other debt and credit issues. Zoe began her legal career at Housing and Economic Rights Advocates (HERA), a consumer-focused nonprofit legal services and advocacy organization serving clients throughout California. At HERA, she worked with clients on matters including mortgage servicing and foreclosure prevention, credit repair, solar panel financing fraud, and income-share agreements, as well as leading HERA’s student loan practice. Zoe then clerked for the Honorable Neal E. Kravitz of the Superior Court for the District of Columbia.
Zoe graduated from Harvard Law School, where she held leadership roles in student groups dedicated to mediation and tenant advocacy. Prior to law school, she completed a master’s degree in viola performance at the Boston Conservatory and worked as a freelance musician, music instructor, writer, and editor in the Boston area. Zoe received her undergraduate degree from the University of California at Davis.
