Legal Aid DC launched the 2026 Making Justice Real Campaign on June 22, kicking off six weeks of fundraising from attorneys and law firm staff who come together to support Legal Aid’s work. This year’s Campaign is aiming to raise a record $4.6 million as requests for Legal Aid’s services continue to increase.
Now in its 37th year, the Campaign has raised $40 million for Legal Aid and today makes up more than one-quarter of our annual budget. About 70 law firms, of all sizes and across the DC area, are participating this year.
For many of these firms, the Campaign has become an annual tradition, bringing colleagues together for fun events, matching donation challenges, and friendly competition against other firms.
Longtime supporter Kelley Drye, which each year organizes a “Pie a Partner” fundraising event, is chairing this year’s campaign, led by Honorary Co-Chairs Dana Rosenfeld, Paul Rosenthal, and Christie Grymes Thompson.
Kelley Drye will host a kick-off event on June 30, and the Campaign runs through July 31.
