Adwoa Nkansah joined Legal Aid DC in November 2024 as an Intake Specialist with the Consumer Law Unit. Originally from Ghana, Adwoa is passionate about upholding the dignity and human rights of marginalized people through law, policy, and education. She graduated from the University of Chicago with degrees in Human Rights and Global Studies, with a focus on Law, Borders, and Security, as well as a minor in Education. Her thesis examined the intersections of anti-Blackness, power, history, and identity in contemporary Mexico.

Previously, Adwoa has worked and interned with grassroots organizations, educational agencies, and a non-profit that provided legal support to migrants.
