Chris Canjura joined Legal Aid DC in February 2025 as a Senior Intake Specialist for the Family Law and Domestic Violence Unit. He previously worked at Americans for Immigrant Justice in Miami, Florida, supporting unaccompanied children in Office of Refugee Resettlement detention shelters. He managed legal services for incoming unaccompanied children, specializing in providing Know Your Rights presentations, legal intakes, wellness checks, and referrals. At Americans for Immigration Justice, Chris previously worked as a paralegal for the Children’s Legal Program, submitting various applications including Adjustment of Status, Asylum, SIJS, and Employment Authorization Documents.

Chris is passionate about providing legal services to vulnerable communities in a holistic and client-centered manner. Chris graduated summa cum laude from Notre Dame of Maryland University, majoring in Political Science with a concentration in Law and Civic Engagement.
