Erica J. Clarke is a Staff Attorney in the Housing Law Unit. She represents low-income tenants in eviction and housing conditions cases before the D.C. Superior Court. She also litigates housing law claims before administrative bodies, such as the D.C. Housing Authority and the Office of Administrative Hearings.

Prior to joining Legal Aid DC, Erica was a Staff Attorney for Legal Services NYC, where she litigated cases in housing court and administrative forums on behalf of people facing eviction and in affirmative cases challenging agencies and actors who threatened New York City resident’s ability to obtain and retain affordable housing. Prior to that position, she worked as an Attorney for the United States Small Business Administration. She was also an Attorney Fellow for the DC Department of Buildings.

Erica earned her J.D. from Howard University School of Law. While in law school, she interned at the DC Office of Human Rights and worked as a legal research assistant.
