Hailey Markt

Hailey Markt is a Staff Attorney in the Public Benefits Unit. Hailey represents clients in a wide range of public benefits matters, including Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Medicaid, Medicare, and unemployment insurance.

 

Before joining Legal Aid DC, Hailey received her B.A. from the University of Missouri and her J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center. While in law school, Hailey provided legal representation to low-income individuals and families through Georgetown's Health Justice Alliance Medical-Legal Partnership. Additionally, Hailey worked as a legal intern at Bread for the City, the Neighborhood Legal Services Program (NLSP), and the Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division - Disability Rights Section. Hailey was also a member of the Barristers' Council Appellate Advocacy team, a Legal Research and Writing Law Fellow, and a teaching assistant for Professors Peter Edelman and Jessica Rosenbaum.
