Marisa Theodore

Marisa B. Theodore is a Senior Staff Attorney in the Immigration Unit.  Marisa represents individuals and families who need assistance with navigating the immigration legal system.

Marisa has dedicated her legal career to providing immigrants with compassionate, client centered representation, with experience in both nonprofit and private practice settings. Marisa joined Legal Aid DC after serving as the Managing Immigration Attorney at Ayuda. She also served as the Managing Attorney of the Immigrant Children’s Program at Church World Service before becoming the Associate Legal Director. Marisa has also worked in private practice representing immigrants in a variety of immigration legal matters.

Marisa earned her J.D. from Barry University School of Law and her B.A. in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland, College Park.
