Renée Cordio is a staff attorney in the Family Law and Domestic Violence Unit, where she provides legal representation to survivors of domestic violence in civil protection order cases and other family law matters. She received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2025. While at Georgetown, Renée served as a student attorney in the Health Justice Alliance Law Clinic, where she represented D.C. residents in housing conditions cases brought against their landlords and engaged in advocacy surrounding housing law reform.

 
Prior to law school, Renée served two terms with AmeriCorps. During her first year of service, Renée was a member of City Year Boston, where she provided academic and social-emotional support to students in Boston’s most underserved schools. In her second year with AmeriCorps, Renée served as a Volunteer in Service to America (VISTA) at a D.C. mental health organization, Capital Clubhouse Inc. Her project focused on creating a supported employment program to create a pathway to work for the organization’s clients with serious mental illness.
 
Renée is dedicated to public interest work, and is passionate about client-centered and trauma-informed lawyering, and she applies this passion to her work at Legal Aid DC.
 
Not admitted to practice law in any jurisdiction. Practicing law in the District of Columbia pursuant to D.C. Court of Appeals Rule 49(c)(9)(B) under the supervision of Legal Aid attorneys admitted to the D.C. Bar and in good standing.
