Sofia Ferber-Garcia is a Staff Attorney in the Family Law and Domestic Violence Unit, where she provides legal representation in civil protection order proceedings and a range of family law matters. A native of Washington, D.C., she is committed to serving the community where she was born and raised. Before joining Legal Aid, Sofia held roles with the U.S. House Ways and Means Committee, the National Association of Counties, and in the Office of Congressman John Delaney. She also completed a legal internship with Stride Funding.

Sofia graduated with her J.D., cum laude, from UDC David A. Clarke School of Law in 2025. While in law school, she was a student attorney in the Immigration and Human Rights Clinic, where she advocated for clients navigating complex legal processes. She was awarded the Dean’s Cup Award for Practice for her commitment to serving clients, contributing more than 1,000 pro bono hours. She also holds a B.A. from Trinity Washington University.
