Stacy Cloyd is a Senior Staff Attorney in the Public Benefits Unit. She represents public benefit applicants and recipients, with a special interest in benefits administered by the Social Security Administration. Before starting at Legal Aid DC in September 2025, Stacy provided direct representation, mentorship and training, and policy analysis and advocacy on Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) matters in a variety of settings.

Stacy graduated from Smith College magna cum laude. She has degrees in law (cum laude) and urban planning from the University of Michigan, where she served on the Michigan Journal of Law Reform. Outside of work, Stacy has organized several blood drives and is a volunteer trainer and preparer for Community Tax Aid. She was a one-day Jeopardy! champion and is on a multi-decade journey to hike the entire Appalachian Trail. Stacy lives in Southwest DC.
