Susannah Loumiet

Susannah Loumiet is a Staff Attorney in the Housing Law Unit. She represents low-income tenants in eviction and housing condition cases in the D.C. Superior Court. She also litigates housing law claims before administrative bodies, such as the D.C. Housing Authority and Office of Administrative Hearings.  

Prior to joining Legal Aid DC, Susannah was an Assistant Public Defender, most recently at the Office of the Public Defender for Arlington County, Virginia, and prior to that, at the 2nd Circuit Public Defender’s Office in Tallahassee, Florida. As an Assistant Public Defender, Susannah represented indigent criminal defendants charged with misdemeanors and felonies at trial and on direct appeal. Susannah also worked on death penalty cases as an Assistant Capital Collateral Counsel at CCRC-North, and as an Assistant Capital Defender Fellow at the Northern Virginia Capital Defender Office. Susannah is proficient in Spanish.
